![]() ![]() That attack buff, really cheaply and giving elemental damage, is far better than black mages. My favourite class has to be the Spell Fencer. The Summoner battle was insanely hard and was probably where I truly learnt that I had to/how to use considered play with brave and default, rather than just spamming one or the other. The Thief battle was a tough one that caused me to blow through almost all my items, but I figured that Khint would leave early so I knew what to do at least. The first playthrough had some epic boss battles that really made me appreciate the intricacies of the brave/default system, and how you have to use it intelligently in order to win because the enemies sure as hell will. After that, no need to grind for anything as I'll be raking in the job points. Spend entire first couple of chapters in Freelancer job to get to level 10 so I can get the JP up ability. Key strategy: Get Angel Bow early to totally rule until end of chapter 3, though likely switching to dual-wielded Lu Biu's Spears at some point as that does more damage (especially with Spear Lore which is easy to get once you've got the job). I was already planning a restart to do things better anyway though, so I've just gone and done that. I got to the end of chapter 4, 75 hours of play, before the agony of not reading the trope page, strategies and general community stuff became too much and I spoiled myself on the ending and everything. My first playthrough was totally blind, not looking up anything at all. Hell it's probably one of my favourite JRPG's ever, it's just that good. This game is absolutely incredible, easily one of my favourite on the 3DS.
